Children are and always will be the joy of our heart. Celebrate with us this free event to demonstrate your affection and appreciation for the children in our lives. We will provide a fun filled afternoon with GAMES, PRIZES, RAFFLE, FOOD, CANDY, and PIÑATAS!
It has definitely been shown that children have, are, and will always be the kings/queens of any home and the joy of the entire world. Benefit from this day to indulge them, but also to demonstrate your affection and your respect the entire year.
On April 23, 2011, the OLLIN Youth Group will be hosting the 4th annual Little Village Youth Forum “Prevent Violence, Promote Peace” at Gary Elementary School from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The forum will explore violence through youth culture and popular education. In addition, there will be youth-led performances, workshops, and resources.
This event is meant to empower youth to prevent violence and to promote peace in Little Village.
Teatro Americano Co-Artistic Director Emmanuel Gutierrez will be on a panel at the event, so make sure to check out the event!

1. Harvard College Accepts Record Number of Latinos: According to Hispanically Speaking News, Harvard College admitted 2,158 Hispanics for the Class of 2015, comprising 12.1% of admitted students. Last year, Latinos made up 10.3% of the incoming class. It will not be until May 1st when the college will know what its exact minority representation is, that is when students will either accept or decline to attend Harvard.

A long-time supporter and friend of Latinos Progresando, Juan Carranza, will be showing his film in the Chicago Latino Film Festival. A film revolving around the Puerto Rican culture, Carranza wants to showcase some neglected aspects of the islands culture.
