Arts and Culture
The Arts & Culture program works to make community issues not only visible, but artistically engaging.
Latinos Progresando’s Arts & Culture programs connect our community members to the arts and cultural events so they can creatively explore the issues that affect their lives. Our Arts & Culture programming spotlights the experiences of Mexicans and Americans, with a focus on the Mexican community in Chicago.
Teatro Americano
Teatro Americano provides opportunities for local youth to think and act in creative ways that counter negative stereotypes of Latino youth and communities.
The Mural Project
The Mural Project brings together artists and residents to paint community stories in neglected areas of Chicago’s Southwest side.
Cultural Celebrations
Our Cultural Celebrations offer Chicagoans celebratory ways to connect with their neighbors and with their heritage.
