Although still referenced as the most recent immigrants, the truth is, Mexicans have been in Chicago for nearly 100 years. There is a rich cultural history, and a century’s worth of contributions from Mexicans that have made our great city what it is today.
To honor this legacy, Latinos Progresando created MEX talks―a one-day, TED-style speaker showcase where Mexicans and Mexican Americans take the stage to address a variety of topics through a uniquely Mexican lens.
The 4th annual MEX talks is exceptional―the 2016 event features, for the first time, an all-women lineup―seven inspired individuals sharing their perspective on what it means to be Mexicana today.
