Serving immigrants with high-quality, low-cost, culturally sensitive services.

Founded in Pilsen in 1998, Latinos Progresando has over 13 years of experience providing affordable, quality legal services to immigrant communities. Latinos Progresando has assisted more than 20,000 clients with issues around legal permanent residency, citizenship, family petitions, domestic violence, consular processing, and more. We specialize in family-based immigration and VAWA petitions, and offer low-cost, walk-in consultations and a variety of other services in our Little Village office.
We are accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals, a part of the Department of Justice and the highest-level immigration court in the United States. Latinos Progresando’s legal staff is knowledgeable, bilingual, and cares deeply about our clients and our community. Two members of our legal staff first entered Latinos Progresando as legal services clients, so our staff personally understands what it is like to navigate through the legal system as an immigrant and the importance of high-quality legal service. Latinos Progresando’s reputation for high-quality service has drawn clients from as far away as Waukegan, Bolingbrook, and Indiana. Many of our new clients come to us because of positive, word-of-mouth recommendations from our community members and past clients.
With our Access to Justice Program, we inform our clients about their legal options, guide them through the immigration system, and work to reunite them with their families. During that process, we strive to ensure that our clients understand their experiences with the legal system, what their expectations should be, and what their responsibilities are. Moreover, to ensure that our broader community understands the immigration process, we also provide community education presentations on immigration rights, immigration law, and immigration myths.
Our legal services include:
- Family petitions (I-130)

These legal services are low-cost, starting at $30 for a consultation. While we rely on revenue from our legal services to sustain our programs, we are dedicated to making our services available to anyone who needs them. Please come in to speak to us for more information.
As part of making our services available, we work on an all walk-in basis. We understand that the immigration process can be unpredictable and that our clients may have busy lives and pressing questions, so our office is open for walk-in consultations with our legal staff on Tuesday 9am-2pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.
If you are in need of a service that we do not provide, we also provide referral services to other low-cost lawyers and organizations in Chicago. We are always building strong relationships and formal partnerships with other organizations so that we can make those referrals smooth and effective.
Today, in a time when immigrants often have to navigate through complicated legal procedures, misinformation, frequently-changing laws, and costly and/or fraudulent immigration “services,” LP’s accessibility, experience, and accountability to our community set us apart.
