Assistant Director of Community Programs

Status: Full-time

Payment: Salary, commensurate with experience

The Assistant Director of Community Programs will report to the Community Programs Director and support the community programs department while managing Marshall Square Resource Network engagement.

The Assistant Director of Community Programs will be a proactive leader with excellent communication skills. The position requires dependability, the ability to produce high-quality work independently, and the ability to take guidance and direction.

Founded in 1998, Latinos Progresando is a nonprofit organization that elevates the well-being of the Mexican community. Latinos Progresando provides quality, affordable immigration legal services, reaching families from more than 60 countries around the world. Additionally, the organization leads a 60-organization coalition called the Marshall Square Resource Network, offers arts and cultural programming, and provides scholarship funding to students from immigrant families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision and management of programs, special projects, and team members as assigned
  • Participate in the strategic development of the Community Programs department
  • Lead communications for Marshall Square Resource Network, including designing newsletters, decks, and committee agendas
  • Coordinate Community events, including maintaining membership list; manage event logistics; organize committee meetings
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, including committee co-chairs, network members, and community leaders
  • Establish and maintain Salesforce database
  • Support consultant to advance work plan and ensure metrics are met
  • Support the Development department with grant reports and data collection
  • Attend external meetings and community events as needed
  • Track the progress of the work plan to ensure it is met before year-end
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Lead Projects and events as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Proactive leadership skills, ability to problem solve, and balance competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team and engage multiple and diverse stakeholders
  • Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Culturally competent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools
