Payment: $43,000 to $48,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Founded in 1998, Latinos Progresando is a nonprofit organization that elevates the well-being of the Mexican community. Latinos Progresando provides quality, affordable immigration legal services, reaching families from more than 60 countries around the world. Additionally, the organization leads a 60-organization coalition called the Marshall Square Resource Network, offers arts and cultural programming, and fosters cross-community collaboration.
Latinos Progresando’s Community Engagement Coordinator builds connections within and manages projects serving the needs of the Marshall Square Community. Reporting to the Community Programs Director, this position is responsible for various projects, including providing access to technology and supporting a food distribution program for local households.
Responsibilities
Community Engagement project management
- Reporting to the Community Programs Director, support the development, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of projects and initiatives that engage Marshall Square residents
- Coordinate monthly food distribution program to 50-plus participants; communicate program changes and requirements to participants; support participants in navigating the online portal; manage partnership with Nourishing Hope
- Manage communications with program participants, including mass texting via SimpleText
- Maintain data and evaluation information on community engagement activities
- As needed, provide data and narrative information to the Development Team for grant writing and reporting, and communications items
- Lead green initiatives, including expansion of the urban tree canopy, planting trees, and community engagement around the environmental and social benefits of urban forestry
General Community Programs
- With leadership, devise and manage investment strategies aligned with the organization’s assets and strategic priorities
- Maintain capital budget for the organization’s properties
- Manage fixed assets and adjust general ledger, as appropriate
- Perform annual CAM reconciliations and assessments for tenants in the organization’s properties
- Manage the organization’s capital debt and, with CEO, loan repayment strategy
Requirements
- Minimum three years of relevant experience
- Initiative and ability to engage multiple, diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable and confident in a fast-paced environment
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools
- Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) a plus
