Payment: $43,000 to $48,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Founded in 1998, Latinos Progresando is a nonprofit organization that elevates the well-being of the Mexican community. Latinos Progresando provides quality, affordable immigration legal services, reaching families from more than 60 countries worldwide. Additionally, the organization leads a 60-organization coalition called the Marshall Square Resource Network, offers arts and cultural programming, and provides scholarship funding to students from immigrant families.
Latinos Progresando’s Business Coordinator will support the organization’s engagement efforts with residents.
Responsibilities
Business Coordinator
- Reporting to the Director of Corridor Development and working with consultants and Latinos Progresando leadership, the Business Coordinator will help expand Latinos Progresando’s reach beyond the business and non-profit communities of Marshall Square.
Community Engagement
- Support the Director of Corridor Development in advancing engagement strategies for corridor and real estate development projects
- Support the Director of Corridor Development with business engagement
- Advocate for and support the city and other government partners in the delivery of infrastructure services for Marshall Square
- Identify and coordinate technical assistance for businesses on the Cermak corridor
- Coordinate rapid response and emergency support efforts for Marshall Square
Program Evaluation
- As needed provide data and narrative information to Development Team for grant writing and reporting; draft and/or review select external communications related to community development efforts
- Support data gathering and analysis
General Community Programs
- Attend and contribute to the success of all LP signature events, Marshall Square Resource Network quarterly meetings, and committee meetings as assigned
- Represent Latinos Progresando at external meetings
- Act as first point of contact with local elected official and other stakeholders as it relates to the community development
Requirements
- Minimum two years of relevant experience or graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Spanish
- Initiative and ability to engage multiple, diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable and confident in a fast-paced environment
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools
